Dr. Keith Lezama's extensive experience in education, particularly in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), demonstrates his commitment to creating inclusive environments and advancing educational opportunities for all.
In his current role as the Vice President of DEI at Emmanuel College, he plays a crucial role in shaping the institution's approach to DEI initiatives, ensuring that they are integrated into all aspects of college life.
By focusing on both educational and experiential learning, Dr. Lezama aims to holistically support the intellectual, social, and emotional development of students and educators preparing them for success in the diverse and interconnected world of the 21st century.
Dr. Lezama's involvement in professional organizations such as the College Board's New England Regional Council and the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE) underscores his commitment to staying at the forefront of DEI scholarship and practice.
As the Co-Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer of L&P Educational Services he showcases his dedication to empowering educators and fostering equity within educational settings. His work in includes co-designing and facilitating professional learning opportunities, leading equity audits, coaching school and district leaders, and supporting student programming.
The recent co-founding of Building Bridges Education organization further underscores Dr. Lezama’s. passion for dismantling barriers to academic and economic advancement for minoritized communities. By employing comprehensive strategies, wraparound support, and high-impact programs, Building Bridges Education aims to bridge the gap between PreK-12 experiences and post-secondary careers and education. This holistic approach reflects a deep understanding of the interconnected challenges faced by minoritized communities and the need for multi-faceted initiatives to address them effectively.
With his educational background, including degrees from Emmanuel College, Simmons University, and Northeastern University, as well as his prior experience as the Director of the METCO program in the Brookline Public Schools, Dr. Lezama brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his leadership roles.
